  • This class contains a service-learning component. This aspect of the course is designed to help students to utilize engagement in the community as a way to consider the ideas and academic content found in class texts and discussions/lectures. It is hoped that you might gain unique perspectives in the service experience that can be useful as you think through the ideas presented by the professor and authors. Participation in a course like this can contribute towards ASU's Civic Engagement Certificate or might generate ideas that can be later explored and sponsored by a forthcoming University Civic Engagement Research Grant.
